Connect Reporting and Integrations with Forwood One

Purpose

Forwood provides a set of APIs that allow your organisation to integrate Forwood One with other business systems, such as reporting tools, data warehouses, and corporate platforms.

This article explains the main API categories available, how they work, and how they can support better reporting and data management in your organisation.


What Are Forwood APIs Used For?

Forwood APIs help organisations:

  • Share Forwood One data with corporate reporting tools (e.g. Power BI)

  • Integrate external systems with Forwood One

  • Automate data exchange between systems

  • Build internal dashboards and data lakes

  • Reduce manual data handling


Available APIs

Platform API

The Platform API is the main integration API for Forwood One. Use it when you need to integrate business processes across systems. It allows to :

  • Create or update safety records

  • Query entity and workflow states

  • Trigger workflows and actions

  • Synchronise operational data between systems

  • Integrate third-party applications

Key details:

  • Read and write access

  • Supports transactional and operational integrations

Reporting API

The Reporting API allows you to extract data from Forwood One for reporting and analysis. It provides access to data such as:

  • Verifications

  • Inspections

  • Events

  • Safety Interactions

  • Action Plans

The Reporting API is read-only. Use it when you need to:

  • Connect Power BI or other reporting tools

  • Build reporting pipelines to support operational analytics

  • Load data into a data warehouse or data lake

Key details:

  • Read-only access

  • Paginated to optimise response times

  • Delta sync support

  • Access to reportable entities

User API

The User API allows you to manage user data between your systems and the Forwood platform. It supports:

  • Importing users into Forwood One

  • Managing user roles and permissions

  • Keeping user information aligned across platforms

Key details:

  • Not self-service

  • Access must be requested through your CSM


Manage API access

Customers can self-manage access for the Platform API and Reporting API in Forwood One.

Users with the Site Admin role can:

  • Create API keys

  • Review active integrations

  • Manage existing API keys

  • Revoke API keys

  • Review the Swagger documentation

Access API keys

  1. Log in to Forwood One.

  2. Open Workspace Settings.

  3. Select API Keys.

Important: The User API is not self-service. Request access through your CSM.
